The Board of Directors of Safe 1 Credit Union recognizes the importance of protecting the privacy of your personal information. Therefore we have adopted the following privacy policy. This policy is intended to comply with Part 716 of the National Credit Union Administration Rules and Regulations.

Information We Collect

We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:

  • Information we receive on paper applications, online applications and other forms such as name, address, income, employer and e-mail address.
  • Information we receive from consumer reporting agencies such as credit history and public records.
  • Information obtained in verifying and updating information provided on applications and other forms such as current employer, address, and telephone number.

Information We Share

In order to provide a full range of financial services to you, we may share some or all of the information we collect with third party service providers. However, we limit any information sharing to the extent necessary to provide the applicable service. Our third party service providers may include printing/mailing firms and financial service firms including data processing companies, ATM and credit card processors statement printers, insurance companies, collections and consumer reporting agencies. These service providers act on our behalf and have agreed, in writing, to keep all nonpublic personal information confidential. We do not allow these companies to see any of the information we provide to other third parties.

We also may share some or all of the information we collect to comply with court orders or other legal requests from government or regulatory agencies as permitted or required by law.

Protecting Member Information

We restrict access to your nonpublic personal information to employees and officials who need to know the information for specific business purposes. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards, which comply with federal regulations to protect your nonpublic personal information.

We do not share information about you with any third party telemarketing firms.

How to Opt Out

If you prefer that we do not disclose nonpublic personal information about you to nonaffiliated third parties, you may opt out of those disclosures, that is, you may direct us not to make those disclosures (other than disclosures permitted by law).
