Online Security

The Board of Directors of Safe 1 Credit Union recognizes the importance of online access for members in today's high tech world. They also realize that online access provides dishonest thieves with greater access to confidential member information. Your Board of Directors and Safe 1 management is committed to using state-of-the-art online security measures to protect member information. The following controls are in place to protect against unauthorized access or use of member information:

  • Password Security - Online banking access requires a signed member request, and the member is required to change their password upon first use. All remote access requires multi-factor authentication. Invalid log-ins are limited by automated means and access can be re-initiated only by appropriate staff.
  • Encryption - Our online banking service is designed to operate only with Secured Socket Layer (SSL) compliant Internet browsers. This ensures that data sent over the Internet is fully encrypted using 128-bit encryption.
  • Firewall - Private dedicated circuits are installed to protect all of our communications channels. All data circuits are protected using firewalls, which continually monitors all activity over the data circuit. Any unusual activity will trigger an alarm that will block activity and allow security intervention by our provider.
