Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA)
At Safe 1, we offer several types of IRAs including Traditional, Roth, Rollover and Coverdell Education Savings Accounts (formerly the Education IRA). All are available as IRA Club Accounts or IRA Certificate Accounts. Earn the highest return on your IRA by investing in our IRA Certificate Account. However, if you may need to withdraw or transfer the funds in the next few months, you should select the IRA Club Account, which can be withdrawn at any time without penalty.
The Traditional IRA is a savings account that allows you to make annual contributions, which may be tax deductible.
The Roth IRA allows you to invest your after-tax dollars today, let the investment grow tax-deferred, and withdraw your principal and earnings tax-free, subject to eligibility requirements.
A Rollover IRA is one transferred from another institution or qualified retirement plan. Contact us for details on how to open a Rollover IRA.
The Coverdell Education Savings Account (formerly the Education IRA) is an investment tool designed to help you save for a child's education expenses.
All of our IRAs offer the following benefits:
- No Annual Fee
- Dividends paid monthly
- Insured for up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), part of the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), a federal agency.
Please consult your tax advisor regarding the tax treatment of any IRA account.
